Ten aspects of Twitter that Meta's Threads still lack

Threads still need to catch up with Twitter, and here are ten such features that are only available on Twitter.

With over 100 million sign-ups in only a few days, Mark Zuckerberg's newest microblogging site Threads has completely taken over the internet. Threads, which was created and developed by the Instagram team, offers a unique yet recognisable user experience that mimics Twitter.

Touted as the Twitter alternative, Threads has many features similar to Elon Musk’s latest acquisition. However, being a brand-new platform, it does miss out on several key aspects when compared to its rival Twitter, perhaps the most popular microblogging platform in the world.

Describe Threads. The Twitter clone created by Meta that Elon Musk may face serious problems

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, is once again doing what he does best: building social networks that inspire participation and dialogue. Within a few hours of its global launch, Threads, Meta's microblogging network designed to capitalise on Twitter's self-inflicted problems, had racked up more than 30 million sign-ups. This gives Threads some credence as a real Twitter substitute. It remains to be seen if this uptick will sustain over time and succeed in luring users and interaction away from Elon Musk's Twitter. A lot will rely on how Meta handles user privacy and safety on this new mobile-only service. However, the support for Threads does highlight the necessity for a neutral, secure environment where ideas may be discussed without restraints.
